Another distinguishing quality of a designer jean is the unique cut. Like I mentioned above, each jean has a specific cut, and designer jeans lead the industry in innovative designs. The popularity of skinny jeans are a great example. Originally worn in the 50's, skinny jeans made a comeback in 2002 on designer runways. It wasn't until 2005, however, that skinny jeans became a fashion trend and lower-priced jean companies started producing them

The next differentiating feature is the superior fit. For some reason, the denim used to make designer jeans molds to fit the wearer's body type. It is important to note I don't mean these jeans are skin-tight. Rather, the jeans take on the intended fit and cut of the jean (such as flare, skinny leg, boot cut, etc.) and flatter the body type of the person. If you don't believe me, again, go to a store selling both types of jeans and try them on. Your butt will never look better than when you're in a pair of designer jeans!
