The dark wash on the jean is fabulous. It fades slightly on the front legs, pockets, and the ankles. The fade is a blend of an antique wash with a few lighter threads thrown into it, which serves to make the jean seem lived in. Along the perimeter of the back pockets and the waistline of the jean there are small areas that are distressed, which rough up the jean a little and give it some interest. I even realized a few weeks after I bought my first pair that there is a pale pink stitching along the waistline, and pale green stitching along the button opening, which gives it a designer touch. For all its details the jean doesn't at all come across as tacky or cheap looking, it actually looks way more expensive than it actually is.
